FAQ

  • What is the best age to enroll my child in swim lessons?
The ideal age to start swim lessons varies, but generally, children can begin as early as 6 months old with programs like Aqua Elite Swimstitute Waterbabies. If your child is older and hasn't started lessons, it is never too late to start. They should begin with a private lesson so their abilities can be evaluated by one of the Aqua Elite Swimstitute trained instructors.
  • How do I enroll my child in lessons?
The first step to sign up for Aqua Elite Swimstitute lessons is to email coachk@aeswimstitute.com We will respond within 24 hours in order to find out more about your swimmer and where you are located. At that point, you will be connected with an instructor and given some options for lesson times. Lessons will be booked through our service and email confirmations will be sent to you. It is important to know which service and package plan you would like to sign up for before lessons are booked. Please don't hesitate to contact with questions at any time. See you at the pool!
  • How do I determine what service to enroll my swimmer in?
Generally, if you are unsure where your swimmer fits in, it is best to start with a private swim lesson so that his or her swim abilities can be assessed by one of the Aqua Elite trained instructors. Once evaluated, it can be determined if he or she should continue in private lessons or could join a small group lesson.
  • What do I do if I need to cancel a lesson?
Please cancel any lesson at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled lesson. This gives instructors an appropriate amount of time to rebook this session time slot. If the lesson is not cancelled within 24 hours, there is a $15 late fee charge that goes directly to the instructor.
  • What happens to my scheduled lesson if weather conditions are unsafe?
Any swim lesson that needs to be cancelled due to weather, will be rescheduled at no charge by the instructor. The instructor will reach out to you to arrange the new time. Unsafe weather conditions include rainstorms without thunder and lightning because this affects attention span for many swimmers. In addition, many community pools do not allow swimming while it is raining due to concerns about seeing the bottom of the pool. Any time there is thunder and lightning (within 10 miles of lesson location) even if there is no rain, a lesson will have to be rescheduled. Lightning can strike up to 15 miles away from the actual storm. Water safety is always most important!
  • Do I need to be there for my child's lessons?
If the lesson is occurring at your home pool, you do need to stay on your property, but you do not need to stay near the pool during the lesson. Some swimmers learn better when their parents and/or caregivers are not on deck. If the lesson is at your community pool, again we ask that you are nearby if you don't want to be on deck. Of course, you are always welcome to sit and watch each lesson.
